“Modern Art”
The vocabulary, movements, styles, and schools of modern art can be vastly overwhelming. The Modern Age has been and continues to be a dynamic and exciting period for art. Well over 200 styles and movements have been distinctly identified in the last 150 years.
Modern artists tend to fall into one of three major preferred foci:
- Some artists create art which merges with daily life and the environment,
- Some describe or respond to it, and
- Some go within to “inner worlds” and archetypal humanity and represent what they find in their art.
