Gallery / Artist Relationship Policies:

• We consider artists after receiving media kits.

• We will respond to the artist within 45 days of receiving media kits. If we are interested in featuring an artist, we will ask for an interview with Gallery staff.

• We seldom devote the entire gallery to one artist. Artists, therefore, will likely be sharing their Gallery show with other artists.

• The Gallery currently practices a 50/50 percentage policy with sold art. If a customer uses a credit card to make a purchase, the Gallery splits the transaction fee (usually 2% of a 4% fee) with the artist.

• A signed contract between Artist and Gallery must be in place before the Gallery can receive any artwork. The artist will also provide a biography / artist statement at least 6 weeks prior to their show, complete an inventory of every piece being delivered to the gallery (inventory and work delivered at least 6 days prior to show), in a Word, Excel, or Filemaker document, with digital images of work included. If Gallery staff needs to produce an inventory or take digital images, an hourly fee of $50 will be assessed.

• The Gallery assumes majority responsibility for marketing and sales efforts. The Artist, however, is expected to do his/her own show announcements. The Gallery provides high quality PDF files and web links for Artist to promote show. The Artist may be expected to share some of the marketing and Reception expenses TBD between Gallery and Artist. If at all possible, the Artist is expected to attend First Fridays and any other receptions scheduled during their contract period.

Tennyson Gallery has a full insurance policy and security system with police in place; however, artists are responsible for insuring their own work for the entire time the work is in the possession of Tennyson Gallery.
